The Bulls-Magic game Wednesday was so predictable. Bulls first game back from the circus + Orlando being a great road team = recipe for disaster. I really enjoy Orlando's offensive sets. It reminds me of my short time with the Bulls-Sox Academy traveling team. Everybody stands around the perimeter, run a pick-n-roll, and take what is given on every play. It's so simple, yet so effective. Mickael Pietrus must love his life - just stand around the perimeter, hit a couple treys each game, and collect your paycheck.
If the playoffs started today, the Pacers, Knicks, and Raptors would all be in the playoffs...take a minute for that to digest.
My favorite rotation player on an NBA team is the guy on the bench that comes in and has the liberty to look for his shot on every possession. If I had to choose a role in the NBA, I would want to be "that guy". There's no pressure on you to succeed, you get to play against 2nd units, and stats are so attainable. It never seems to be the 6th man, but it's generally a failed lottery pick turned backup swingman. Most teams have "that guy". The Bulls haven't had "that guy" for awhile (sorry C.J. Watson), although it seems like a perfect role in a best case scenario for James Johnson. Corey Maggette has made a career out of being "that guy". Some teams seem to have three or four "guys" that play this role throughout a single season (Golden State). The turnover on this rotation spot seems to be higher than any other position. Here are some of examples of "that guy" in the Western Conference today: Randy Foye, Donte Greene, Reggie Williams (G-state), James Harden, Marcus Thornton, George Hill, Xavier Henry, Wes Matthews, J.R. Smith.

Boozer for 80 million or S.T.A.T. for 100 million? I'm starting to wonder...Boozer seems to lack help-side defense which is Taj's biggest strength. Not comparing the two players' overall talent, but Taj was starting to look really good before Boozer came back. He will be a nice chip off the bench.

5 teams I dread watching during NBA TV Live Look-ins:
Philadelphia (miserable.)
New Orleans (most boring team in the league when Paul is on the bench)
Atlanta (old news)
Toronto (best player is a poor-man's Dirk)
Oklahoma City (Note to the world: we all know Durant is a superstar)
5 teams I love watching during NBA TV Live Look-ins:
L.A. Clippers (Blake Griffin & Eric Gordon)
Memphis (no reason)
Indiana (Quietly 9-8 and so mysterious it's worth watching)
Minnesota (Beasley revival)
Golden State (Ellis & Curry experiment)
Boston's local announcers were driving me crazy the other night until I noticed that one of them is a Gorman.
