Power Rankings (As of December 15)

How appropriate that my first (real) post is power rankings! I don't mean to be cliche, but I thought the first thing I should do is get a feel for the NBA landscape.

I've broken the league up into tiers. There are six tiers, each with five teams grouped together. This isn't an exact science, but I'll try keep it this way and I think it makes it easier to see how things have shaken out thus far. It should be noted that these rankings are based completely on my opinion of how good each team is, not necessarily success (although that obviously plays some role).

Welcome to my NBA blog!

Hey folks,

You're probably wondering why my opinion on pro basketball means anything, and it probably doesn't. However, I've always had a passion for basketball, in particular the NBA. I grew up just outside Chicago watching Michael Jordan's Bulls plow through the rest of the league in the '90's as a kid. Since then I was hooked.

I now reside in Indiana, a place Bill Simmons once called "the capital of basketball". I won't say whether I agree or disagree, but there is definitely a deep hoops tradition here. So since living in Chicago and Indiana clearly makes me qualified to write about basketball, I thought I'd share my knowledge with all of you on this blog.

Why "Pro Basket-blog"? I don't know, no other good names were available. I thought it was kind of cute, and you see it and you know what it's about. That's all that matters right?

Now, what can you expect to be reading on Pro Basket-blog? Well it's hard to say. I've never done this whole blogging thing before. I've never even been much of a writer. But all I know is that I love basketball. So for now, this will be a random collection of NBA thoughts and opinions. I'll do my best to be unbiased, but I won't make any promises. Nobody will be reading this anyways.

I'd like to thank you if you made it to the end of this post. If you did, why not give my next post a chance?
